FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Zard Apuya was born-and-raised on the island of Guam and is now residing in San Diego, CA. His love for art began during childhood and has shaped his desire to explore many styles and mediums. In late 2010 was when he found his love for customizing toys and since then has done over a 1200 customs, many as commissioned projects from clients. His inspiration comes mostly from pop culture, but lately, he has been getting into food-inspired designs where he challenges himself to capture the realism of his inspiration.
In "The Toy Room," Zard will feature pieces inspired by a variety of themes: culture, TV & movies, and, of course, FOOD. From pieces influenced by his roots of growing up on the island of Guam to his interpretation of everyone's beloved icons in pop culture, guests will be able to view a collection of more than 100 custom toys expressing his style and many techniques.
